Biography:
Korra is the protagonist of the animated television series The Legend of Korra, a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Her first appearance was in the series premiere, "Welcome to Republic City," in 2012.
Born in the Southern Water Tribe, Korra is the Avatar, a reincarnation of the spirit of the planet, and is destined to maintain balance in the world. Unlike her predecessor, Aang, Korra quickly mastered Waterbending, Earthbending, and Firebending, but struggled with Airbending due to her headstrong personality.
Throughout the series, Korra faces numerous adversaries who threaten the world's balance, including Amon, a revolutionary who seeks to eliminate bending; Unalaq, her power-hungry uncle; the Red Lotus, a group of anarchists; and Kuvira, an Earth Kingdom military leader. Over the course of the show, Korra grows from a rash and impulsive teenager into a wise and compassionate leader, learning to master all four elements and finding her own unique connection to the Avatar spirit.
